| Seeking = Players for Traveling Social Team Level of Play = ALL Gender = Males & Females Contact Name = Mo Garcia Contact's Rating = 4.5 Contact's email = MOG01@aol.com Comments = My proposal is to encourage competitive non-league "social" tennis between other divisional clubs in our region. The matches would not be rating or placement specific, but used primarily to foster good relations between other players in the tennis community within SC & Ga. The idea would be to have an Aiken traveling team of every NTRP level; 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, MWX regardless of which local team you hold allegiance to. The host team would provide sandwiches, Tea, Coffee, Juice(Beer) etc. after the match. For example, the Women 3.5 team of Aiken, would play host to a Women 3.5 Team from Top Spin of Lexington, SC. The same team, (Top Spin), would then reciprocate by hosting the 3.5 team from Odell, which could comprise of 6 different 3.5 players. We would only use the USTA to verify that players are bona fide USTA rated players for the level they are playing on that day. At some point, this could be the makings of a separately sponsored event (like the "Garcia Cup!") presenting the winning club with a trophy, which gets passed from club to club yearly. This was standard practice in the UK, prior to the beginning of each league season; teams would play a series of friendly matches between clubs. The cost to the players would be limited to say $5-8.00/ ea. to cover the cost of sandwiches Tea, Coffee, etc. At the moment I have no specific day(s) in mind although weekends would be best.
